I COULD tell you the same thing. § theanti-lib372013-09-27 11:38:06sfoThe Climate Change Denial Machine Is Going Up to GodAlmighty2013-09-27 11:37:35 11 As I predicted, with the advent of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report due tomorrow, the noise machine is out in full force. Still, when I saw that James Delingpole had written yet another climate change denial piece for The Telegraph, I dithered. After all, in my opinion Delingpole is one of the noisiest of the deniers, saying whatever he can no matter how provocative, presumably to get a rise out of his readers. You can read all about his shenanigans at DeSmogBlog. But The Telegraph is widely read, and Delingpoles wrongness is the usual kind of stuff that will make the rounds of the deny-o-sphere, so Ill stick my head in to the maelstrom momentarily. The real meat of his column starts with this: At the heart of the problem lie the computer models which, for 25 years, have formed the basis for the IPCCs scaremongering: they predicted runaway global warming, when the real rise in temperatures has been much more modest. So modest, indeed, that it has fallen outside the lowest parameters of the IPCCs prediction range. The computer models, in short, are bunk. Actually, no. They didnt predict runaway warming, they use models of the atmosphere checked against real measurements to make predictions of future temperatures. The warming predicted was steady and unsettling, but hardly runaway. Delingpoles use of the term is a strawman. Next, the real rise in temperatures has not fallen outside the lowest parameters (he means lowest range) of the predictions. Models use different input information to predict what temperatures will be like. Some have finer time resolution, some will have better modeling of various factors, some make different assumptions than others, and so they produce different (though generally very similar) outputs. When taken together, they provide a range of predictions, and while current land and sea surface temperatures are lower than the most likely prediction, they are still within the range of predictions the models have given.

So right after 9/11, and days after 9/11, before the war in Afghanistan began, an American diplomat named Ryan Crocker, who is one of the most experienced and very sophisticated and capable diplomats that America has, flew to Geneva to meet with a number of Iranian diplomats. And they were eager to cooperate and to help the United States destroy the Taliban - which they, for various reasons, they detest and loath. And they did and there's an extraordinary moment where Ryan Crocker, the diplomat meeting with these Iranian diplomats, one of them puts a map on the table of Afghanistan. He says, look, this is the disposition of all the Taliban military positions and when - if it were up to us, we'd hit them here, we'd hit them here and we'd hit them there. And Crocker said to them - he was stunned, of course, and he said, do you mind if I take notes? And they said, you know, you can keep the map. And so that continued. There was a lot of cooperation between the Iranians and the Americans in the early days after 9/11. And you know, if you remember from that time, the Afghan war in the early days, you had a lot of al-Qaida people that were fleeing into Iran. There was some cooperation, the Iranians turned over some al-Qaida guys to the United States. So there was a lot of cooperation. And then this very dramatic moment, January 2002, so the war at this point is, you know, five months old or so, four months old. Crocker is - Ryan Crocker is - he's awoken in the middle of the night in Afghanistan, where he is in the embassy at the time, and he is told that President Bush has just given a speech in which he has named Iran as a member of something called the Axis of Evil. And Crocker told me, he said, you know, none of us had any idea that this was happening. And so, you know, the next day, a couple days later, he saw his Iranian counterparts. After months of cooperation and getting along and, you know, and they were furious. And they said you totally screwed us. You know, we trusted you. We took great political risk to, you know, we stuck our necks out and said let's try to cooperate with the United States. A lot of people back in Tehran didn't want to do this and you've completely damaged us. We feel betrayed. http://www.npr.org/templates/transcript/transcript.php?storyId=226104144unkI blame Chemtrails and Obamacare. § Irony_Guy_Returns2013-09-27 11:36:23sdoFroggy your cousin & I where drinkin last nite Liberalguy2013-09-27 11:35:20http://www.grindtv.com/outdoor/nature/post/alien-like-creature-actually-a-toad-with-a-big-appetite/ancI think he is stealth Ronnie § doggie4152013-09-27 11:32:51unkL.azy I.gnorant B.astard = LIB § theanti-lib372013-09-27 11:31:13unkObama, we need to kill more THE_CAGANER2013-09-27 11:30:44let's make more health care "free" (i.e. no out of pocket expenses) 26,000 die from no insurance (maybe they choose not to spend their money on the wasteful procedures Obama is always criticizing?) http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/06/20/us-usa-healthcare-deaths-idUSBRE85J15720120620 while 400,000 die from medical errors. http://journals.lww.com/journalpatientsafety/Fulltext/2013/09000/A_New,_Evidence_based_Estimate_of_Patient_Harms.2.aspx Liberal/progressive fascist morons, what would give the biggest bang for the buck if you wanted to help people? anyone? unkA GOPer admits he doesn't have a clue. The idea that negotiating over the debt limit is somehow unprecedented has been debunked over and over, with the Washington Post awarding Obama Four Pinocchios for his statement that, You have never seen in the history of the United States the debt ceiling or the threat of not raising the debt being used to extort a president or a governing party and trying to force issues that have nothing to do with the budget and nothing to do with the debt. In fact, you saw it from Congressional Democrats during the Nixon administration, 25 times with 25 different nongermane items from 1978 to 1987, and it was used successfully in 1980 to repeal one of Carters unpopular energy measures. The president keeps using this word, unprecedented. I do not think it means what he thinks it means. Carneys last response is classic, as he tries to explain how then-Sen. Obamas vote to not raise the debt ceiling was somehow not a vote to default, as the White House claims Republicans taking the exact same vote would be today. The president voted against raising the debt ceiling as a senator to make a point about what he believed were wrong fiscal priorities of that administration, Carney replied. What then Senator Obama never did was say, I will vote to default if I dont get what I want. A distinction without a difference. And, lest we forget Obamas remarks on the occasion of his vote for default because he wasnt getting what he wanted: The fact that we are here today to debate raising Americas debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government cant pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Governments reckless fiscal policies.
Increasing Americas debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that the buck stops here. Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better. sfoI make them just for you - your welcome § GodAlmighty2013-09-27 11:23:01sfoI love your clever little pics make me tee hee handlewaeshere2013-09-27 11:22:57heeunkI just did.
