South Carolina Republicans are on the verge of passing a bill that would completely nullify every aspect of the Affordable Care Act in their state. Known as H3101, the bills purpose states: “A bill to amend the Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, so as to enact the ‘South Carolina Freedom of Health Care Protection Act’ by adding Article 21 to Chapter 71, Title 38 so as to render null and void certain unconstitutional laws enacted by the Congress of the United States taking control over the health insurance industry and mandating that individuals purchase health insurance under threat of penalty; to prohibit certain individuals from enforcing or attempting to enforce such unconstitutional laws; and to establish criminal penalties and civil liability for violating this article.” In effect, H3101 prohibits any and all agents, officials or employees of the state of South Carolina from implementing any provision that is part of Obamacare. It also allows for the issuing of a state tax deduction equal to the tax penalty enacted by the IRS and makes the state exchanges illegal. They are also considering two additional provisions that would make the Medicare expansion illegal and the suspension of state insurance licenses of any insurer that received federal subsidies through Obamacare. The bill passed the South Carolina House in April by a 65-34 vote. The bill has now gone to the Republican controlled Senate with a special-order priority. They are expected to easily pass the bill, sending it to the desk of South Carolina’s Republican Governor Nikki Haley. From everything I’ve heard, Haley will most likely sign the bill into law as soon as possible, making South Carolina to take such drastic action to stop the implementation and enforcement of Obamacare in their state. State Sen. Tom Davis (R-Beaufort) commented: “It will essentially have five components to it, all of which in my judgment are legal, effective, and within the state’s power to do.” Read more at http://godfatherpolitics.com/13555/south-carolina-nullify-obamacare/#0KdIF6w8ScHOXe7J.99houThesis about "Middle Class America" TheSteadyHand2013-12-11 10:01:59I do not understand the middle class and the strange behaviors they exhibit. It all seems foreign and scary to me. For example: 1) Take more than one week of vacation? "Office won't survive without me" = "I'm expendable and the vacation time is fodder for corporate downsizing." 2) Time for that once in a lifetime vacation? "We're doing the Disneyworld thing, no expense spared." = "Stay at a budget Disney resort, three day park pass, two days playing in the hotel pool." 3) Time for a trip to Vegas? "We saw a few other sights while we were out there." = "Cheap Grand Canyon motel, one night off the strip in Vegas. Kids play in the arcade while you spend $20 at the penny slots because they are 'a good deal'." 4) Kid's birthday? "Let's make this one special." = "Two gifts, a few clothes, and a free dessert at the Mexican food joint up the road." 5) Anniversary? "Let's make this the best one ever!" = "Red Lobster, a second run movie, back home early so you can pay the babysitter with a $20 bill." 6) Anniversary sex? "That was awesome baby!" = "A little bit of missionary sex, and finish with a handjob." 7) Saving for college? "He can go anywhere" = "We have $1000 for a laptop. Fight for $500 scholarships at the local 3rd tier college because he 'wants to stay close to home'." 8) Ride bus to work? "I'm not putting those miles on car!" = "My car has 180,000 miles on it, will break down, and can't afford a second car payment." 9) Big promotion at work? "Fast tracking me to upper management." = "I made a lateral move with a small raise and a departmental assistant." 10) Celebrating that promotion? "I deserve to spoil myself a little." = "An imported beer, the 'best cigar for the money' from the corner store, and a Jergens handjob." 11) Time to go to your home city's NFL game? "To other middle class guys on the street - Let's do this thing boys!" = "Go tailgate, but leave at game time because you just can't plunk down $300 when you can 'get a better view on tv'."tusnot likely ibRightandLeft2013-12-11 10:01:54I agree with Buffet.....oil and gas.rcsI tell the Government around $60k notsochristianjohn2013-12-11 10:01:39In reality around 90.tusI'll bet ya don't have any. § mygrane2013-12-11 10:01:07ispObama Roling Downhill Keep Rolling MOTHERJUMPER2013-12-11 10:00:21Former Obama Supporters Call Him 'Inexperienced,' 'Timid' President Obama's rapidly losing fans among his formerly strong supporters, according to a report by MSNBC. Democratic pollster Peter Hart conducted a focus group that Democrats can't be happy about having announced all over the Internet. Even though the group consisted of only 11 people, 8 of whom voted for Obama previously, their results are getting an unusual amount of attention. That's probably because not a one of them said he was "proud" or even "satisfied" with Obama's performance in the presidency. Instead, they described him as "powerless," "cautious," "overwhelmed," "timid" and, my personal favorite, "inexperienced." They're all apt words, particularly "inexperienced." Even though Obama was in the Illinois state Legislature and briefly in the U.S. Senate, it always seemed dubious that his career had prepared him for the Oval Office, and the past five years have borne out that assessment. With a history of facing opponents who dropped out of their race, or even being unchallenged in critical elections, Obama's entire political career essentially was handed to him on a silver platter. An honest evaluation of his career reveals a cluster of highly influential people who have used their financial, political and media contacts to bury Obama's opponents and clear his path to the White House in an effort that goes back years before his election to the Senate, possibly even decades. Valerie Jarrett, who is Obama's vizier, his Merlin even, once said of the president, "He knows exactly how smart he is. . . . I think that he has never really been challenged intellectually. . . . He’s been bored to death his whole life. He’s just too talented to do what ordinary people do. He would never be satisfied with what ordinary people do." Via his Twitter account, Boehner posted "I couldn't believe what I was being told," said a dad who learned #ObamaCare wouldn't cover his baby." The story of Cornelius Kelly, a Long Island resident that claims he was told that he would have to buy a separate health insurance policy for his 18-month-old baby, however, is a big fat lie. There is a very simple reason why Kelly did not receive coverage for his 18-month-old daughter: He forgot about her. Kelly placed on his application that he had three children instead of four.nycLOL. "This is a measure we welcome so that everybody can express his or her opinion." Bach did not offer any details about the size or location of the zones.
