First it lie______detector2014-02-23 22:57:36Tom Coburn Endorses ACA Exchanges... First it was Ron Johnson offering tepid praise for the idea of healthcare exchanges. Now we've got Senator Tom Coburn offering full-throated praise of the exchanges. After denial, anger, bargaining and depression over it, Coburn is leading his colleagues toward acceptance. "I'm not worried about the exchanges," he said in a Senate floor speech. "They'll get that fixed." Coburn attributed the early failures of HealthCare.gov -- the online portal where individuals can shop for coverage under the Affordable Care Act -- to an "incompetency of management." But the exchanges would ultimately be successful, Coburn said. "It will eventually work and work well," he said. We all knew it was just a matter of time. By 2014 he'll be telling us it was all their idea. It told the truth this week, I think they are coastie_LAU2014-02-23 22:54:01sorry. Because like with most things, reality tells a completely different tale. In fact, President Obama hasnt even used the executive order all that much. Five years into his presidency, hes issued 167 executive orders about 33.4 per year. Here are the last four presidents whove served consecutive terms and how many executive orders theyve issued, as well as their average per year: Ronald Reagan: 381 total, 47.6 per year Bill Clinton: 364 total, 45.5 per year George W. Bush: 291 total, 36.4 per year Barack Obama: 167 so far, 33.4 per year (projected total 267) Out of the past four two-term presidents, the one whos issued the most executive orders would be conservative hero, fiscally responsible, small government loving, Constitutional legend Ronald Reagan. At Obamas current pace he would finish with 114 fewer executive orders being issued than Reagan. Or for him to surpass Reagans number (at his current pace) he would have to serve for almost an entire third term (another 3.4 years). So if Republicans want to call President Obama a dictator for the frequency at which he uses the executive order, just what in the hell would they say about Ronald Reagan? I mean hell, out of all four of these men President Obama is on pace to use the executive order fewer times than any of them. And again, these arent partisan numbers, theyre indisputable facts. Well, I guess the projected number isnt a fact as of yet, but most stats professionals would probably say after 5 years you can make a fairly safe assessment of what the next 3 years will be like based on existing patterns and evidence. sfoMy profile pic is after I lost 100 pounds! § Coastie_12014-02-23 22:37:57My problem with Obamacare aka Mnsure here 2014-02-23 22:37:49Is I'll be paying about 250 more per month for essentially the same coverage.
