Most of the nation are so busy with their gay marriage problems or their errant priest offering the kids candy or dealing with evil doer walmart, the issues and what's at stake are overly mundane for them. Personally I would rather hear the President defer comment on something because it's sensitive or undecided, I think ego might more encourage some bullshit answer. That's the way it is. The stuff they should be accountable for are the campaign promises. The intentional misdirection for partisan purposes. That stuff is where the real character of the individual can be judged. How comfortable are dems with one of their own standing up and telling tall tales. When you support that stuff or even try and spin it, do you ever question yourself and your values for your neighbor and co-workers. And Libs in particular do a lot of hand waving about their alleged more evolved social conscious. I know some of these cons in elected office embarrass the shit out of me, not for being direct, frank or looking like they lack compassion, but when they do or say something so obviously stupid or make an allegation that is one grain of sand truth and the rest unknown or flat out falsehood I want them run out of office. I can't really think of one con politician that I hold in high regard that hold office or is a frequent talking head. Maybe one or two military officers, but I can't t think of one that seems like the real deal. I don't see any dems either, but I hold a couple people from the junior party in a more favorable light because I honestly believe they work hard, try to operate from principle and try to avoid personal attacks on other public figures.
